New look, new brand, same photographers. In a nutshell, that explains it. In depth, it’s so much more.
There was a time when things started to kind of feel hollow with the way we were running things. Not that we weren’t us or anything, but it felt like what we were doing wasn’t us. Does that make any sense? I felt like there was so much for us to learn as far as how we were doing things and what we could do to continue to grow. In the end, we decided to stop trying to reinvent the wheel ourselves and to actually find someone that could help.
It’s strange. Most people would think that it would be easy to decide what it is that you are or who it is that you are. In reality, it’s not. Who, or better yet, how are you going to portray yourself to your audience? How are you going to be any different than the next Joe Schmo down the road? It’s easy to look at something that isn’t yours and decide that it’s either good or not, but how do you make it better? When we met Elle and Jared from POSTFILM, we kind of hit it right of the bat. We knew from the get go that they were the ones that we wanted to invest in, which, in the end, would be an investment in our own company and new brand.

It was a grueling 10 months. We were on pins and needles. In the midst of it all, we were still growing. We were getting more and more couples that were discovering us. The initial part of the our new brand was to launch a new logo alongside with a new feel. It’s weird and hard to describe, but Elle at POSTFILM made something happen. She pieced together all our desires, all our little personality traits, and the relationship Marta and I have into a brand. We kind of gave her free reign on this also. The new look came before the new site, but we took it and ran with it.
In time, things just seemed to fit us. Somewhere along the way we went from just Rudy and Marta to Rudy & Marta: Down to Earth Photographers. I think that’s probably been one of the most interesting things about it all. We chose to go away with the crazy filters, the crazy edits, and all the other crazy stuff. We chose to simply be us.
This is it. This is us. Most importantly, this is our new look. It’s still the same old us, but somehow better thanks to POSTFILM. We’re bearing everything.
