Destination Weddings | Tips for Couples | Rudy and Marta Photography

Destination Weddings are one of those things that everyone hears about.  They would love to have one.  Immediately, the first thing that comes to mind is the cost.  After all, once things start to go towards the European or Caribbean route, a lot of people immediately think of how much more expensive things are across the pond.

Like every time you travel anywhere, the most expensive commodities are usually the flight and the hotel.  A lot of hotels usually give discounts on rooms when there’s a block that’s reserved for the couple and their wedding guests.  Everyone will be able to save some money there.  This is a good thing.  Trust me.

“Traveling to Puerto Rico, New England, or Europe for destination weddings becomes a little less expensive with the right flight prices.”

When talking about the flights, there’s not much that we could do to help aside from actually getting tickets at the right time.  So far, every time that we travel we find great deals through SkyScanner.  There’s all the bells and whistles of normal travel sites.  Some people prefer Hopper as well, but this is almost an entirely mobile option.  Traveling to Puerto Rico, New England, or Europe for destination weddings becomes a little less expensive with the right flight prices.  These two offer alerts and predictions for the best times to purchase tickets in order to get the bes

Something else to consider is all inclusive pricing.  Some resorts have all inclusive options for weddings.  It’s great when you can drink, eat, and party as much as you want for your wedding and it’s all one solid price.  There are so many places where you can have a wedding at the same price, if not cheaper than in the US.  A little bit of research goes a long way when you want something unique.

” That’s what Destination Weddings are about for me anyways.  It’s a way to get away, be with the person you love, and be joyous.”

If you can’t afford it outright, then don’t make it a wedding.  Instead, make it an elopement.  Bring your closest friends.  Bring the most dearest of people.  Have an intimate and close ceremony.  Celebrate your love with your friends and family while on vacation.  Heck, make it your honeymoon as well.  Simply be together.  The people that really, truly care about you (and can afford to) will go to witness your wedding or elopement.  That’s what Destination Weddings are about for me anyways.  It’s a way to get away, be with the person you love, and be joyous.  Just don’t forget to bring Marta and I. 🙂
