Wedding Photography has changed so much since Marta and I started getting to know couples. There have been so many times where we’ve been surprised with how the industry has changed or moved towards a certain style and overall direction. It’s weird and awesome at the same time. We are constantly on our toes. Marta and I would constantly be thinking on how we can change and improve things.
A little over two years ago, Marta and I decided to change who Rudy & Marta Photography was. We had accepted some help from another company called POSTFILM to see what it was that we could do to help evolve our wedding photography business. We decided to build this brand from the ground up. It was hard, difficult work. We persevered.
A few days ago, I was asked by my friend, Tyler Bolston, if we’d like to be a featured photographer on the Southeastern Photography Convention. We obviously said yes! I mean, c’mon! It was so awesome. He asked some serious questions that made me reflect who we are and what we’re doing with couples. What is our purpose? Why are we photographing couples? Where do we want to go? Where do we see ourselves in the future? These questions were running through our minds at 100 MPH.

So, we did what we do best. We brewed some coffee and talked about it. We touched the wedding photography industry multiple times in our conversation. Of course, touched travel and where we wanted to go in the future. Overall though, we came to the conclusion that we needed to change. It felt like the right time. And I have Tyler and his questions to thank for that.
While we were in Europe, we were talking to couples and venues. Eventually, our view on ourselves and our wedding photography shifted. We decided that something felt off. I don’t really know how to explain it. It’s like that feeling that you get when you know you have something to do or say and it’s on the tip of your mind, but you just can’t seem to grasp it.
When we came to the United States we realized that it was time to change and evolve. I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone, but let’s just say that it’s extremely exciting and we can’t wait to show it to everyone. We can’t wait to announce it to everyone! I will say one thing is for sure though. We’re changing and we’re evolving. 🙂
