Destination Engagement Session | Katie & Brandon | Rudy & Marta

Marta and I met Katie and Brandon a long time ago.  They actually live in California, so their wedding is actually a destination wedding for them.  After talking to them, we realized that they also wanted to have a destination engagement session as well.  They grew up in Central Florida.  A lot of their family and friends also live in Central Florida, so it seemed natural for their wedding to be there as well.

When we met at the Florida Wedding Expo earlier this year in April.  We automatically hit it off!  It was so much fun talking to them about their wedding at Birdsong Barn and what they had in mind for the day of.  We started brainstorming where we could go to have their destination engagement session right off the bat.  Marta and I were stoked to talk to them, so we emailed them almost immediately after we got home from the wedding expo.

Marta and I Skyped with them and we were both stoked about their day.  It was great and we felt like they were the right fit for us.

“After a few months, we started talking about when they would be in town and when we could have that destination engagement session that we mentioned.”

After a few months, we started talking about when they would be in town and when we could have that destination engagement session that we mentioned.  We started forming an idea of where and what we’d do.  All Marta and I needed from Katie were a location, and Wekiwa Springs was chosen.  We were so glad!  Wekiwa Springs is one of our favorite engagement session locations!  Our last couple of engagement sessions there were awesome.

The session started out like any other, but you could tell that these two were going to make it fun.  Their quirkiness and interactions were on point.  They said they were going to be awkward, but it worked.  There’s a spark there that was perfect.

I will say that Wekiwa Springs changed a lot since the last time we were there.  There were no longer any prescribed fires going on.  The bushes had finally grown back, but they had completely eradicated foliage elsewhere.  Honestly, it put a wrench in our plans, but we went with it.

In the end, the images came out awesome!  Katie and Brandon were up for anything, so we got some epic shots.  Check them out.
