Bok Tower Gardens | Engagement Session | Rudy & Marta

Bok Tower Gardens has always been able to grasp our hearts and soothe it with the peace and tranquility felt there.  The first time that Marta and I went there was on a recommendation of a friend.  They went ahead and told us that it was a place like no other, and they knew that we were into photography.  They went ahead and told us that it would be a crime if we didn’t at least visit the place.  We found the day and we went.  We knew that this place was going to be a place of wonder and passion from the moment that we saw the tower in the distance.

It seemed only natural that we would take a couple there and photograph them.  We had mentioned it to a few of our couples, but no one really wanted to travel the hour or so that it takes to get there.  Then Gabi and her mom walked into our booth at the Beautiful Bride Wedding Expo.  Immediately there was a connection.  You could tell that we really got the same idea as far as what we could do together.  We met up, talked about their wedding day, and it seemed only natural that we have an engagement session.

“The feel at Bok Tower Gardens also has the same feel as some parts of Puerto Rico.  There is an old, rustic feel that comes with anything from that Spanish era.”

In comes Bok Tower Gardens and Sun-n-Fun.  We wanted to emphasize travel in their engagement session since they’re having their wedding in Puerto Rico.  The feel at Bok Tower Gardens also has the same feel as some parts of Puerto Rico.  There is an old, rustic feel that comes with anything from that Spanish era.

The day was full of laughter and story telling, but more importantly, we had fun. We started out at Sun-n-Fun but quickly found ourselves going to a nearby Strawberry Field to take pictures and buy some strawberries for ourselves.  Some of my favorites happened in that field.

Afterward, we went to Bok Tower Gardens where we took some great portraits of the two of them in their prime.  We were all warmed up, so Gabi and Gabe quickly got into the groove of things.  There were some people that were walking around wondering what it was that we were doing, but they didn’t pry.  Once we got to the tower, we got the picnic set up with champagne.

All in all, we had such a blast.  Can’t wait for their wedding.  It’s going to be so beautiful on my home island.  Here are a couple of the images that we captured that day.  Our Instagram Profile is a good place to find them.
