Craft Coffee | Vespr | Personal | Rudy & Marta Photography

Craft coffee is something that most people don’t even think about when it comes to their coffee.  There are so many things that go into the craft coffee world that isn’t even recognized.  Everyone knows Starbucks.  Everyone knows their favorite drinks there.  Is it just a hipster trend that everyone seems to be following?  Do people just like sweet stuff and don’t think about what goes into coffee, let alone craft coffee?

“…I completely fell in love… I’ve never seen a joint, let alone a craft coffee joint have an NES hooked up to a TV.”

A good friend of mine, Jessica said that she had time on an afternoon awhile ago.  She just happened to be on the other side of town.  She invited Marta and I.  We decided to meet up over there for some coffee at this place called Vespr.  We went in with little expectations.  Immediately after we went in, I noticed that they had Super Mario Bros. playing on a small TV in a lounge setting.  Of course, I completely fell in love with Vespr from that moment on.  I’ve never seen a joint, let alone a craft coffee joint have an NES hooked up to a TV.  We got there around 5:45PM.  There was no real rush within the place, but there were some people (mainly students) that were sitting around studying, conversing, or just simply hanging out.

“I trusted my…barista?  I don’t even know what to call them.  Craft coffee experts?  I don’t know.”

I have a knack for ordering things that people that work there recommend.  I trust the people that work there.  It’s not that I can’t decide anything for myself.  It’s just that the people that usually work in a place typically have an idea as far as to what’s good or bad.  When I got up to the counter to order I did just that.  I trusted my…barista?  I don’t even know what to call them.  Craft coffee experts?  I don’t know.  All I do know is that what they gave me was heavenly.  It was safe, that’s for sure.  it was some butterscotch and coffee concoction.  It was good.  It went really well with a chocolate cherry scone that I got.

The atmosphere at Vespr Craft Coffee was amazing.  The lighting was dim.  There were tables all around.  there were strange little knick knacks and (almost) hidden gems.  Every corner had something.  We ended up spending a little over four hours conversing about life, love, and business.  Not in that order.

My only gripe with Vespr Craft Coffee is that there aren’t more in town. Hopefully, in time there will be more to be had in time.  Hopefully, they’ll grow and be even more awesome.  If they can go ahead and make it grow at that speed, then great things will come from it.
