Savannah Wedding | Laura+Danny | Destination Photographer

A little more than a year ago, Marta and I went ahead and photographed a Savannah Wedding.  It wasn’t any normal wedding, it was a wedding that was near and dear to our hearts.  We’ve known Danny and Laura for a long time and have seen their love grow together.  Something simply clicked when they met.  It was a story of love that surpassed everything that happened in their lives.  There was distance.  There was time.  Everything was against them.  Yet still, they stuck together.  It was a beautiful and magical day when Danny decided to pop the question.  Afterward, the joining of two very large families started to begin at this destination wedding.

Marta and I decided to drive up there for the Savannah Wedding.  We were able to go up there and check out Atlanta while being able to scope out some sweet spots before the wedding day.  The weather was beyond perfect.  The lighting and timing were perfect.  Everything blended together beautifully.  We were able to find something new in every corner.  As the day continued, we started to realize that these two decided to go against the traditions of having a first dance, father-daughter dance, or mother-son dance.  They did decide to go ahead and simply have a few speeches and let the wedding guests enjoy themselves.

The food was spectacular at the Mackey House.  I mean, the Mackey House was a great spot for a Savannah Wedding.  The food was on point though.  There was a whole kitchen set up with their own chefs preparing unique entreés for all of the guests there.  There were several appetizer and dessert stations throughout the house.  Every station had its own individual theme.  Everything from Jamaican beef patties to sangria infused dessert martinis, the blend of flavors were on point.  Afterward, the cake cutting was an event like no other.  There was a second-floor balcony in the house that overlooked the area where the cake was being cut.  Everyone circled around and saw what they were doing.  Quickly after that, they all went back to partying and having a good time.

All in all, this Savannah Wedding was on point.  The day was beautiful, the weather was perfect, and the people were full of that love and laughter.  All of them were there to support their friends while they were committing their love to one another.
