After the last post on the best of detail photographs of 2016 post, Marta and I started to talk about the next best of the best blog post to do. There are so many things to choose from. A wedding has a bunch of moving and ever-changing components. That’s kind of a given, but it’s hard to really see it come into play until you’re in the middle of a wedding. The next thing that we feel like we should go through our engagement images. The Best Engagement Photographs of 2016 was a beast to go through.
Personally, I love engagement sessions. They are a great way for people to get to know us. They get to see how we work, but more importantly get comfortable around us. Every couple chooses a different engagement session location. Sometimes we end up going for some drinks and food after the session to continue talking about their wedding day and their relationship. Simply put, it’s just such a gratifying experience. The best thing about all of this is that it solidifies the couple’s idea of what the wedding day will be like.
“It’s more of a way of making sure that it’s what they want. It’s a way of making sure that they get the best engagement photographs possible.”
At the end of the day, our main goal is that they feel comfortable. After we’re done, we always like to ask, “Do you feel like we got it? Is there anything else that you’d like to do?” These questions aren’t just a service thing because I always feel like it’s past that at that point of the relationship. It’s more of a way of making sure that it’s what they want. It’s a way of making sure that they get the best engagement photographs possible. Also, I want them to feel happy and satisfied. It’s weird because I try not to show too much of the images from behind the camera, but there’s a sense of connection there that is established. A sense of trust that is fostered and prepared for the wedding day.
Overall, Going through an entire years engagement pictures was hard. We narrowed it all down to the best engagement photographs of 2016. A top 5 that’s in no real order. Feel free to check them out below. Can’t wait to show what other lists we’ve come up with for the year.
