Wedding Ceremony and When to Have It | Tips for Brides | Rudy & Marta

The Wedding Ceremony is a big thing for us.  I try to make it a point to meet up with couples and talk to them about their wedding day.  If I don’t think that we’re a fit for each other, then I refer them to another photographer that might be.  I want to photograph anyone’s wedding, but there are just some things that I’m better at.  We want to play at our strengths in wedding photography.  I always like to talk to couples about their wedding ceremony during our consultation.  Your ceremony is the starting point.  Everything before that is planned so that there’s plenty of time beforehand and that the reception runs smoothly.

We want to make sure that you have the best images during your wedding ceremony, no matter what kind you have.  There’s certain things that you can do while working with your wedding planner to make sure that you have the best wedding ceremony possible.  Almost all the photographers out there know that one of the best time’s to photograph anyone is during what’s called the Golden Hour.  Out west, this lasts awhile.  Here in Florida, it lasts anywhere from 5-30 minutes.  Getting the timing of your wedding ceremony down with your wedding photographs will help keep things stress free.

For example, if the sunsets at 6:30PM, then try to schedule your wedding ceremony at 4:30PM.  With a thirty minute ceremony, you’ll be able to start photographing formals at 5:00PM.  Then your wedding portraits can start at 5:30-ish.  We like to make sure that there’s enough time with the couple so that we’re able to go through the motions during their wedding portraits.  I love an awesome wedding portrait.   We love getting epic wedding portraits.

Seriously though, talk to your wedding planner and work together in order to find the perfect time of day.  I’ve witnessed first hand the amazing experience of having a solid timeline.  Planners know how weddings flow.  They’ll be able to make sure things run smoothly.  They’ll be able to ensure that you don’t run behind.  I’ve seen wedding planners pull time from other areas in the day in order to make up for lost time.  It’s awesome.
