Rustic Barn Wedding in Bridle Oaks, Deland | Leah and Travis

Leah and Travis were referred to us by our friends Lauren and Josh.  When we first talked over the phone about their rustic barn wedding, I felt like they were the kind of couple that got what we were trying to do.  Shortly after they signed the contract with us, we found out that Travis got promoted and had to move out of state.

We started to talk about their engagement session portraits and where we were going to take them.  We finally agreed to have their Together Session at one of our favorite locations.  Needless to say, we had an amazing session with their dog and had the opportunity to walk around and just talk about their wedding.

Planning their Rustic Barn Wedding

I’m really glad that they chose to have an engagement session for their Together Session.  It gave us an opportunity to really get to know these two before the wedding.  We talked a little bit about what they had in mind and the overall style of the wedding.  Bridle Oaks seemed to be the perfect location for their wedding and what they had in mind.

On the day of the wedding, we got there a little early.  I’m so glad that we did though.  Laura from Laura Reynolds Artistry was still getting the bride and bridesmaids ready for the big day.  We started photographing the details and getting everything ready for Leah to get dressed and ready.

Josh and I went to go hang out with the guys and photograph and record segments of them getting prepped and ready.  Once they were done and ready to go, we started to head back to Bridle Oaks.

The sheer emotion of the day was out of this world.  The father-daughter first look was full of tears.  The nervousness and excitement on both their faces when they were doing the first touch.  When Travis’s mom saw him for the first time fully dressed, you could feel the happiness as she saw her boy as he was about to be given away.

The ceremony happened at the perfect time.  The sun was starting to set and the light started hitting that golden hour look that we love.  Their portraits were magical.  These two were in love like no other.  Near the end of the portrait session, we started working on setting up for the reception.

Bridle Oaks Wedding Reception

From their emotional first dances to the wedding parties speeches, you could tell that every single person that was there was undeniably excited for these two to get married.  The reception was full of so many moments.  It was a little chilly, but that didn’t stop people from partying at all.  There was an open bonfire, so people stayed warm.  There was a coffee bar (which I’m all about)!

We sneaked out for a quick portrait session in the middle of the reception.  It was truly adorable.  With one final last dance and a sparkler exit, the night was topped off with tears, smiles, and pure excitement.  We can’t say it enough.  Congrats Leah and Travis!  Check out the wedding photos below.
