Mermaid Inspired Wedding at the Howey Mansion

A few days before Amelia and Rob’s wedding, I took the opportunity to do a tour of the venue with Jody from the Howey Mansion. I wanted to get familiar with the property before the first wedding at Howey Mansion. All of this was in preparation for the green mermaid inspired wedding that same Saturday. I was the second photographer for Bumby at Bumby Photography, so I wanted to make sure that I knew where I was going and what I was doing. Howey Mansion was the perfect choice for Amelia and Rob’s wedding.

Mermaid Inspired Wedding at Howey Mansion

The day started out like any other. There was a little bit of a scare when it came to the weather. There was a window where we could still have the wedding ceremony in the back. No one knew how it was going to go.

Corban from Love and Lustre Weddings was with me waiting for Rob and the guys. As we were waiting, we helped Bumby with some photos and video of Amelia and the girls getting ready. We both left as she was about to put on her wedding dress from the Bridal Finery. We also took some “B-Roll” around the venue. They didn’t have a first look, so there was a little wiggle room in regards to the timeline.

Luckily, the rain held off long enough for the wedding ceremony to happen as well as some family formals and portraits. We were crazy though. During the rain, we took the opportunity to take some portraits in the rear courtyard. It was all pretty epic if I do say so myself.

The mermaid inspired wedding decor had to be put inside because of the rain, but I feel like it went very well with everything that was said and done. Overall, it felt a little tight indoors, but there was just enough space and time to do everything that needed to be done. All the formalities and such.

I didn’t stay until the end of the day. Bumby wanted help with getting ready, wedding ceremony, and formals. All in all, for the first event at Howey Mansion, I have to say that this green mermaid inspired wedding went beautifully. Kudos to the team that put it all together!
