Jillian and Joe first ran into us at a wedding expo. We set up a consultation at a local Panera, met up and talked about what they had in mind for their burgundy and navy wedding in Lake Mary. We talked about why they chose the Lake Mary Events Center and what they were thinking about their wedding day in full.
While talking, we almost immediately hit it off. Jillian and Joe have an almost infectious level of humor. We almost immediately hit it off. In talking about their wedding day we saw that we had a lot more in common than we thought.
We wrapped up our consultation and said our goodbyes. The moment that we turned around to head to our cars, a downpour of rain rolled in and we were stuck in the store. So, we all sat back down and they both said, “We were just saying that we want to book you guys anyways.” We all burst out laughing, like it was meant to be.
Planning their Burgundy and Navy Wedding in Lake Mary
When we were talking about where to have their Together Session, we ended up going with Bok Tower Garden. Their engagement session was awesome and full of laughter with a hint of “
We were stoked with some of the ideas that these two had for their wedding portraits the day of. Just in talking through text, we could tell that things were going to be fun and interesting.
Their Big Day at Lake Mary Event Center
Since they hired an awesome wedding planning team, we had a ridiculously smooth day. We were able to stay on the timeline and we were staying on point the entire day. At exactly 3:00 PM, the doors were opened and Jillian with her bridesmaids walking in and had just enough time to take care of the wedding details and avoid Joe and the groomsmen.
Their first look was so ridiculously sweet. When I was photographing Joe with his groomsmen before everything, he mentioned that there was a pretty good chance that he was going to cry. With all his might, he was able to hold back the majority of his tears. The love that was there, was so sincere and genuine. Family formals were right after the first look, and we took care of them ASAP.
Their ceremony was on a private Facebook Live stream, where family from out of state that couldn’t make it were able to witness their union. With the wedding ceremony happening right on time, things were able to go smoothly into the remaining formals and portraits. Shortly afterward, Jillian and Joe made their way to celebrate with their friends in the cocktail hour.
Jillian and Joe’s Burgundy and Navy Wedding Reception
Their cocktail hour was filled with friends coming into their reception and checking out all of the awesome wedding details. A lot of people saw their cake topper. Some wedding guests laughed with glee, while others smiled and said, “That’s so them!”
Introductions began, and the dancing commenced. Their first dance was so sweet and sincere. Their slow tempo seemed to slow down everything in the room. You could just tell they were in deep love.
From there, the speeches happened and the rest of the night unfolded naturally. There was plenty of fun, dancing, and a ton of laughter. At the end of the day, you couldn’t have asked for a better reception.
Marta and I ended the night at 9:00 PM, though their reception was scheduled to end at 11:00 PM, so we did a mock grand exit. It worked out great because we were able to get the shots that both Jillian and Joe wanted for their big day. All in all, we couldn’t have asked for a better wedding. It was gorgeous, the couple was in love, and we got all the photographs that they wanted, plus a few that we wanted. Check out their Burgundy and Navy Wedding in Lake Mary Event Center!
