Rustic Vietnamese Wedding in Hidden Barn Venue | Quin & Ricky

I’ve known Quin & Ricky for years. We met back when I was a bartender, in what felt like ages ago. I’d have to say that this was one of the longest engagements we’ve ever had the opportunity to see wed. When they reached out to us to talk to them about their rustic Vietnamese wedding, we knew immediately that we were going to photograph their wedding.

Planning their wedding didn’t come without any issues though. Originally, they wanted to go with 1010 West, but they ran into some issues. They weren’t the only couple that we worked with that were left high and dry either.

Their Engagement Session before their Rustic Vietnamese Wedding

We played a lot of tag in getting their Together session planned and ready to go. In the end, it was worth it. We squeezed their session into our schedule just before we went to our yearly European summer trip for destination weddings. After talking for a few months on figuring out what time would be good for a session, we finally chose the morning. Needless to say, it was an awesome sunrise engagement session that was one for the books.

Leading up to their wedding day, we talked a bit about the logistics of the wedding day itself and everything that would take place. We wanted to help anyway that we could with advice and opinions on the structure of the day.

Ricky and Quyen Celebrate at the Hidden Barn Venue

The day was perfect for a wedding. It was cool enough to wear three-piece suits and wedding dresses with ease. The wedding ceremony was midday at the church of their choosing, which made it somewhat predictable lighting. It was as unplugged of a wedding ceremony as Quyen and Ricky could make it. Almost all of the family formals were done after the wedding ceremony.

They didn’t do a first look, but there was a good amount of much time in between the wedding ceremony and the reception. We took care of the wedding party photos in between everything, but even still, we had plenty of time to spare for details and such.

Wedding Reception in Apopka

Once the sun set, things started to get a little cool. To the point where things started to feel a little too chilly. People were scrambling to keep warm at times, so they ended up opening the reception for their guests a little early.

After a few speeches and some formalities, the party began. It was a little tight at times, because of the size of the reception space and the amount of people, but it was enough to make things happen. Photographically, the ceiling was perfect for lighting. All in all, it was awesome. Quin and Ricky partied it up until the last song played.

I am so excited to have been a part of such an awesome night. Even more so, we’re humbled to have been part of such an awesome day. Check out how their rustic Vietnamese wedding came together below.
