Once the wedding and festivities are over, there are only so many things that you can do in order to end the night on a high note before heading to your honeymoon or after-party. Usually, at this point, people have had their fill of food, cake, and a few drinks. If your family is a little like mine, it’s going to take more than a few minutes to get everyone to leave the venue. So here are a few tips on how to have a great wedding send off or grand exit.
Let your DJ or Band announce Your Great Wedding Send Off or Grand Exit
If you’re going to have a DJ or Band there during your reception, then they probably have a mic and sound system set up. Usually, at the end of the night, there’s a chance that there’s going to be a last song that your DJ or Band will play for everyone. Even more so, in the end, you and your new spouse could have a private last dance. This will also get people to get out of the reception area and to wherever the send-off will be.
Have Your Planner Help
In case you haven’t heard it from us, a venue coordinator is not the same thing as a wedding planner. Sometimes venue coordinators don’t even stay until the end of the day. Wedding planners will make sure that they’re there at the end to get people and organize them to get them ready for those awesome exit photos.
Near the end of the night though, you need someone to be firm, but kind. You know, people drink and then they don’t really pay too much attention so they need a little push. Also, it’s not the wisest thing to give those same people sparklers (or anything that is on fire). Needless to say, you need someone to help out with keeping things organized and going smoothly for a great wedding send off or grand exit.
Have a Plan
What is your exit going to be? Are you going to have sparklers? Are you going to have glowsticks? Will there be a CO2 tank going off in the back? Petals? Bubbles? There are so many options that you can go with on your grand exit! We’ve gone through some of the things for having a great wedding send off or grand exit in the past, but that’s a whole other conversation.
Regardless of how you want to have it, make sure that you have a plan on how you’re going to have your grand exit, if at all. It’s just better to have a plan, then not. And you can really do some pretty epic stuff if you have a plan or overall idea on what you want for the big day.
