An Un-Florida Wedding at White Rock Canyon | Maddison & Ed

CENTRAL FLORIDA WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS | White Rock Canyon

I think it’s safe to say that there are some times where you can tell that a wedding happened in Florida. Sometimes, I’ll look over a gallery from a couple’s wedding. Before we deliver it, Marta and I will both look at it and think….this is so Florida. Rarely do we ever find a wedding venue that doesn’t really feel like it was, but White Rock Canyon in Bushnell, FL (yes….Bushnell) feels that way. Photographing or filming Maddison and Ed made me realize how their wedding was probably the most Un-Florida wedding that we captured all year.

The Most Un-Florida Wedding of the Year

Now that’s not to say that other wedding venues in the Greater Orlando Area don’t give an Un-Florida wedding vibe to it, but let’s be real….sometimes venues have decor and everything set up to be kind of on the nose. For people planning a destination wedding in Orlando, FL, and the surrounding area, this probably isn’t a big thing. Marta and I have photographed a ton of weddings for couples up North or out West, and they’re here to make a wedding and honeymoon happen in the same state. It’s not a bad plan at all. But sometimes, us locals want something new. Something that’s unique. And White Rock Canyon does exactly that.

Maddison and Edward Two Coffee Beans in a Pod

Enough about the venue, though, let’s talk about Maddison and Ed. These two are business owners and have been part of the wedding industry for quite some time. We met Maddison years ago while she was working with different companies. Ed came into the mix somewhere in the middle. And I can’t explain it, but these two are simply meant for each other. Their work ethic, their drive, and their love for their craft are amazing. Check out their coffee business: Lucid Beans Coffee. And their wedding day put their coffee front and center. There were plenty of opportunities for people to have coffee on their wedding day, some for the first time.

An Un-Florida Wedding, Weather and All

One of the things that made this wedding something else and FEEL like an Un-Florida Wedding was the fact that it was freezing (by Florida standards). Add the backdrop into the mix, and Marta and I felt like we drove up North for this wedding. It was chilly in the morning and in the evening, and it added so many layers to the day. The first look was nice and sunny, and the portraits that followed were beautiful.

We got to see some industry friends that we hadn’t seen in such a long time over at the ceremony and reception. Getting to work alongside some of our favorite wedding planners also made the wedding day SO much smoother. My goodness…the day went without a hitch. There were tears, there was so much laughter, but more than anything else, there was just love. These two were able to be around the people they love, and to show their love overall. Top it off with launching coffee beans from the indoor lounge, delicious food from Arthur’s Catering, and a private last dance to die for…and these two had the most Un-Florida Wedding anyone local could ask for.
