Timeless Love: A Ginkgo-Inspired Wedding at The Capen House | Hannah & Robby
CENTRAL FLORIDA WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS | THE Capen House
From the Archives: Sometimes, we dive deep into the Rudy & Marta Photography vault and find an absolute gem that somehow never made it to the official blog. Today, we are bringing you an incredible throwback from our 2018 season. Looking back at Hannah and Robby’s wedding is the ultimate proof of why we focus on documentary photography – because raw emotion, genuine connection, and a beautifully intentional aesthetic simply do not age. Here is the timeless story of their day.
When Hannah and Robby first told us the inspiration for their day was the Ginkgo tree, we were immediately captivated. As the oldest living tree species in the world, dating back over 270 million years, the Ginkgo has survived the ages. Hannah and Robby chose the Maidenhair tree as the ultimate symbol for their relationship: a love designed to stand the test of time.
It was an incredibly intentional, meaningful foundation for their wedding at Capen House.
A Botanical Prelude at Bok Tower Gardens
To keep their narrative consistent, we completely leaned into the botanical aesthetic for their engagement session. We met up at one of our favorite Florida locations: Bok Tower Gardens. We documented this session right before flying out for our European summer wedding season, and even in the intense Florida heat, Hannah and Robby were absolute professionals.
They completely trusted our process, stepped out of their comfort zone, and allowed us to capture their authentic, unposed connection among the gardens. It perfectly set the tone for the wedding day to come.
Subtle Elegance on the Albin Polasek Museum Grounds
The execution of their Ginkgo-inspired wedding at Capen House was a masterclass in subtle, timeless design. The aesthetic never overpowered the day; instead, the botanical nods were woven delicately into the details. This allowed the focus to remain exactly where it belongs for our documentary style: on the people and the experience.
As visual storytellers, we live for raw, unscripted emotion, and their first look delivered exactly that. The anticipation completely melted away into tears of pure joy the second they saw each other. You could practically feel the relief and excitement of finally marrying their best friend.
A Celebration of History
Following a beautiful, sunlit ceremony, the evening transitioned into a deeply personal celebration. Because Hannah and Robby were surrounded by people who had known them for their entire lives, the reception was anchored by history. The stories shared during toasts, the overwhelming support from the crowd, and the genuine laughter throughout the night were a privilege to document.
Photographing a wedding at Capen House is always a stunning experience, but watching two people with this level of deep, enduring connection celebrate their marriage is what makes this job so incredible.
