The Best Places to Elope in Orlando & Central Florida (2026 Guide)
ORLANDO WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY TIPS
The Best Places to Elope in Orlando & Central Florida (2026 Guide) | ORLANDO WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
Orlando does not have a venue problem. Whether you want a tropical lakeside ceremony, a historic garden tucked inside Winter Park, a dramatic estate with a staircase that belongs in a film, or a quiet cypress-lined park where it’s just the two of you and the sound of water, this city has an option that fits.
What it does have is a discovery problem. The venues that work best for intimate celebrations are not always the ones showing up first in the Google results. Some of the most beautiful spots for an elopement or micro wedding in Central Florida are parks, historic properties, and smaller estates that rarely show up on the big wedding directories.
We’ve been photographing weddings across Orlando since 2010. We’ve scouted the light, learned the permit processes, and figured out exactly which spots come alive for a small, intentional celebration. This is that list.
Not sure yet whether you want an elopement, a micro wedding, or a minimony? Start here first: Elopement vs. Micro Wedding vs. Minimony: What’s the Difference?
Part One: Dedicated Venues for Intimate Ceremonies
These are full-service (or partial-service) event venues that accommodate smaller guest counts beautifully. Each one has its own character, and each one is a venue we’ve personally photographed at and genuinely love.

Paradise Cove
Tropical lakeside, casual luxury, unforgettable exit
Paradise Cove is the kind of venue that does not need much to look incredible. Situated on Lake Bryan, the backdrop does the work. The ceremony space opens onto the water, the market lighting is already included, and the tropical landscaping gives everything a warm, effortless feel.
For micro weddings, it is one of our top picks in the area. The scale of the space works perfectly for a smaller guest count without feeling empty, and the natural beauty means you do not need a lot of floral or decor budget to make it look stunning. Pair the scenery with a great florist, and the ceremony space transforms into something genuinely magical.
And then there is the boat exit. If you want a grand send-off that does not involve sparklers or a limo, leaving your reception on a pontoon boat as your guests wave from the dock is hard to beat. It is one of the most genuinely fun wedding day moments we get to photograph.

Cypress Grove Estate House
Old Florida charm, sunset ceremony, classic elegance
Cypress Grove Estate House sits along the shoreline of Lake Jessamine, and the ceremony location at sunset is genuinely one of the most beautiful spots in Orlando. The Spanish moss, the water views, the vintage character of the property – it photographs beautifully in warm afternoon light.
The market lighting in the reception area is romantic and sets a great mood for a smaller dinner or celebration after the ceremony. For a micro wedding, the intimacy of the space works in your favor. There is nowhere to hide, which means the photographs end up feeling close and personal rather than formal and staged.
One practical note: Orange Avenue runs right outside the property, so rush hour traffic can create some delay. If your ceremony is in the late afternoon, keep that in mind when building your timeline. We almost always recommend a First Look here so you have time for portraits before the ceremony begins and can fully relax into the evening.

Luxmore Grande Estate
Southern grandeur, dramatic interiors, the epic staircase
Luxmore Grande Estate has a dual personality that we love. The library is moody, rich, and masculine. The ballroom is bright, airy, and elegant. Together, they give a micro wedding a visual range that most venues cannot offer in a single property.
The iconic element here is the double grand staircase. You simply cannot photograph a wedding at Luxmore without a portrait on those stairs. For a micro wedding, the dramatic scale of the space actually works in a surprising way: a small group fills those rooms with warmth and energy instead of getting swallowed by them.
If you want photographs that feel cinematic and timeless – something you frame large and put on a wall – Luxmore delivers that naturally. It is one of the most photogenic venues in Central Florida, full stop.

Casa Feliz
Historic charm, Winter Park setting, intimate scale
Casa Feliz is a restored Spanish-style home turned museum right in the heart of Winter Park, and it is one of the most character-rich venues in Orlando. The architecture is genuinely beautiful, every room has a story, and the ceremony space has a natural intimacy that larger venues can never quite replicate.
For a micro wedding, the scale here is almost perfect. The outdoor ceremony space holds a smaller group without any awkward gaps, and the surrounding architecture makes for natural portrait locations without needing to go far. The property sits just off Park Avenue in Winter Park, so guests can easily walk to dinner or drinks if you opt for a post-ceremony celebration nearby.
One heads-up: the main ceremony spot faces west, which means direct sun during afternoon ceremonies, depending on the time of year. This is easy to manage with a good timeline. We have done it many times, and it is completely workable with a little planning.

Leu Gardens / Harry P. Leu Gardens
50 acres of botanical beauty, seasonal variety, great value
Leu Gardens gives you nearly 50 acres of manicured tropical gardens with distinct sections that feel entirely different from each other: the Rose Garden, the Tropical Stream Garden, the Florida Woodland. Depending on the season, what blooms here can be genuinely stunning.
It is one of the best values in Orlando for a beautiful outdoor ceremony, which is worth saying plainly. The permit process is straightforward, and the grounds are well-maintained year-round. As a bonus, the venue accommodates elopements beautifully because it is so spacious that even with other visitors present, you can find a corner that feels completely private.
For micro weddings with a reception on-site, the indoor reception space is functional, and a popular approach is to hold the ceremony at Leu and then move the reception to the Winter Park Farmers’ Market nearby. The combination works really well.

The Capen House
Lakefront setting, museum character, art-forward backdrop
The Capen House sits along the shore of Lake Osceola in Winter Park, and the ceremony space with a lake backdrop is stunning, especially in the cooler months when the afternoon light is softer. The museum character of the property adds a richness to the photography that simpler venues cannot offer.
For elopements and micro weddings, we especially love this venue in fall and winter when the light through those outdoor spaces is at its best. If you want a day that feels elevated and full of detail without being over-the-top, the Capen House consistently delivers.

Part Two: Parks, Gardens & Public Spaces
These spots are not event venues in the traditional sense. There is no catering package, no built-in reception space. They are locations where you get a marriage license, hire an officiant, show up, and get married. For elopements and very small ceremonies, they are some of our favorites in the area.
Kraft Azalea Gardens
Kraft Azalea is a public park on the shores of Lake Maitland in Winter Park, and it looks like nothing else in Central Florida. The towering bald cypress trees draped in Spanish moss, the lakefront exedra, the reflective water at golden hour – it photographs beautifully in almost any season.
A City of Winter Park permit is required, and there are rules around ceremony timing and setup. But the process is manageable, and the result is a ceremony location that feels genuinely magical for just the two of you.

Lake Eola Park
Right in the heart of downtown Orlando, Lake Eola is a public park with the recognizable amphitheater and fountain backdrop. It is a popular spot for a reason: it is beautiful, accessible, and offers a mix of urban and natural character that works well for couples who want something central and easy to reach.
The permit process runs through the City of Orlando. Because it is a high-traffic park, the best elopements here happen at off-peak hours, early mornings, or weekday evenings close to sunset.

Lake Louisa State Park
About 30 minutes southwest of downtown Orlando, Lake Louisa is one of the most unexpectedly beautiful spots in Central Florida. Rolling hills, open water views, and a landscape that genuinely does not look like Florida. If you want photographs that feel wide-open and unhurried, this is the place.
You can also rent a cabin in the park for overnight stays, which makes it a natural fit for an elopement that extends into the next morning. It is the most “away from it all” option on this list without actually being far from the city.

Art & History Museums of Maitland / The Maitland Art Center
The Maitland Art Center has one of the most unique architectural environments in Orlando: a Mayan Chapel and courtyard surrounded by stone walls, mossy textures, and lush garden spaces. It feels secluded even though it sits in a residential neighborhood.
The Chapel and Mayan Courtyard, in particular, are extraordinarily photogenic for small ceremonies. The light here is soft and directional in a way that makes documentary photography almost effortless.

A Note on Beach Elopements
If you want sand and water, both are reachable from Orlando in under two hours. New Smyrna Beach and Cocoa Beach on the Atlantic side, and the Gulf Coast beaches near Tampa, are all doable as day trips. Florida beach elopements require permits through the county or state park system, and the best light for photography is in the late afternoon, about an hour before sunset.
We travel for elopements regularly. If you want a beach ceremony, we can make it happen.
How to Choose the Right Spot for Your Ceremony
Here is a straightforward way to think through it:
For an elopement (just the two of you or a tiny group): Parks and public gardens tend to work well because the intimacy of the setting matches the intimacy of the format. Kraft Azalea, Lake Louisa, and the Maitland Art Center are all excellent options.
For a micro wedding with 20 to 50 guests: A dedicated venue gives you the infrastructure you need for a reception: restrooms, catering access, and a reception space. Paradise Cove, Cypress Grove, Luxmore, and Casa Feliz all handle micro wedding guest counts beautifully.
For a minimony (ceremony only, no reception): Almost any location on this list works. Keep the guest count tight and focus on the ceremony space itself rather than the amenities around it.
