From the moment we arrived at this Howey Mansion wedding, we knew we were in for something completely one of a kind. Emily and Angel didn’t just throw a wedding. They built a world – and it was one of the most joyful, whimsical, imaginative days we’ve ever had the honor of photographing.
DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE: MEET EMILY AND ANGEL
Emily and Angel are Walt Disney World cast members, and so is their entire wedding party. If you’ve ever wondered what it looks like when a group of people who live and breathe magic decide to throw a wedding – this is it. The energy from the very first moment of the day was warm, playful, and completely infectious. Everyone in that room knew how to have a good time, and it showed in every single frame we captured.
When it came time to choose a theme, Alice in Wonderland was the perfect fit. Whimsical. Dreamy. A little bit cheeky. Exactly them.
THE VENUE: A MANSION MADE FOR A MAD HATTER’S TEA PARTY
There are wedding venues, and then there is the Howey Mansion. A historic Mediterranean Revival estate listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places, the mansion has the kind of character that most venues spend a fortune trying to fake. Original wood floors. Antique furnishings. A courtyard that feels like it belongs in another era entirely. As Orlando Wedding Photographers, it’s a dream come true to be able to work in a place like Howey Mansion.
For a tea party-inspired celebration, it was the most natural fit in the world. The mansion’s warm stucco walls, ornate interiors, and rich architectural detail gave the Alice in Wonderland theme something real to anchor to – and the result was stunning.
THE DETAILS THAT MADE THIS DAY UNFORGETTABLE
Emily arrived in a custom Alice-inspired wedding gown that was utterly dreamy – delicate, whimsical, and entirely her own. Flowers woven into her hair and a pair of shoes that would have made the White Rabbit stop and stare completed the look. She was the bride version of Alice, and she wore it beautifully.
The reception was where the theme truly came to life. Each table featured a custom-made scene from the story, lovingly handcrafted by a friend of the Bride and completely unique. Guests wandered from table to table, discovering new moments from the book – the Cheshire Cat here, the Queen of Hearts there. Inside the mansion, tea party elements added another layer of storybook charm, and the cake and cookies? Straight out of Wonderland. The “Eat Me” aesthetic was on full display, and every detail was deliberate and gorgeous.
THE FEELING OF THE DAY
It was a sunny Central Florida day, and the light inside the mansion was everything we could have asked for. But more than the light, it was the atmosphere. There was so much happiness in that room. You could feel it. The kind of day where you look around and think: these people are exactly where they’re supposed to be.
Photographing a Howey Mansion wedding is always a joy, but photographing one with this much heart and imagination was something else entirely.
