A Luxmore Grande Estate Wedding That Started in the Library and Ended with Sparklers | Lynn & Kevin
LUXMORE GRANDE ESTATE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
September in Orlando means there’s always a chance of rain, and there’s always a chance of magic. Lynn and Kevin got both. Their wedding at Luxmore Grande Estate in Winter Garden was one of those days where we kept looking up from my camera just to take it all in for a second – and we never do that.
Kevin is in the Air Force. He wore his dress blues all day, every ribbon and medal in place, and somehow managed to look both sharp and completely relaxed. Lynn was the kind of bride who had everything thought through – the lace gown, the cathedral veil, the soft mauve bridesmaids, the white florals – and then was fully present for all of it instead of stressed about it. That combination is rare, and it makes for an incredible day to photograph.
The Library
Lynn was not originally sold on the Library.
We get it. Dark wood paneling, floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, a heavy crystal chandelier – it has a very specific energy that doesn’t read “romantic” at first glance. She had mentally moved past it.
Then we photographed the groomsmen in there, and she happened to glance at the back of my camera.
That was the end of that conversation.
The Library at Luxmore does something with light that you have to see to understand. The warm wood tones absorb it in a way that makes everyone look incredible, and more importantly, it makes quiet moments feel enormous. Kevin stood in that room in his uniform and read his vows to Lynn out loud, just the two of them, and she brought her hand up to wipe her eyes, and that was it. That was the moment. We’ve got the frame to prove it.
The rings were resting on a vintage leather-bound Shakespeare collection – “Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, Othello, Poems and Sonnets” – sitting on one of the library shelves. Nobody planned that. That’s just what happens at Luxmore if you pay attention.
The Grand Staircase
If you’ve looked at Luxmore at all, you know the staircase. Two curved staircases sweeping down into a marble foyer, with a chandelier above it that is genuinely absurd in the best way. It’s one of those spaces that makes people stop talking for a second when they walk in.
Lynn and Kevin did their first look right there. Kevin, facing away, Lynn coming down toward him – the moment he turned around, it was over. Everything hit at once. They kissed under that chandelier with the whole staircase framing them, and we took a few steps back to make sure we got all of it in frame.
The Rest of It
The reception was clean and classic. White linens, gold chiavari chairs, pillar candle centerpieces with trailing greenery, the same white and green florals from the ceremony carried through to every table. The wedding cake matched perfectly – textured white buttercream with white ranunculus and greenery tucked in between the tiers. It all felt cohesive without being overdone.
Lynn is a Swiftie, and the dance floor made that very clear once the reception hit its stride. There’s a specific kind of joy that takes over a room when the right song comes on, and everyone knows the words. That happened more than once.
The night ended with a sparkler exit out front, guests lined up along the brick path, the fountain lit up, and Lynn and Kevin running through it all. Her veil caught the light from every direction. One of our favorite frames of the whole day.
PLANNING A WEDDING AT LUXMORE GRANDE ESTATE?
Luxmore Grande Estate is located in Winter Garden, about 20 minutes west of downtown Orlando. It’s one of our favorite venues to shoot in Central Florida – the variety of spaces inside means no two weddings there ever look the same, and the light in that Library alone is worth the drive.
If you’re getting married at Luxmore and want a photographer who’s going to actually use every corner of that property, let’s talk.
