A Casa Feliz Wedding With Two Ceremonies and a Lavender Toss | Zoe & Chris
CASA FELIZ WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY | ORLANDO WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
Zoe and Chris got married twice. A few weeks before their Casa Feliz celebration, they had a Greek Orthodox ceremony at St. Demetrios in Daytona Beach, Zoe in a different dress, surrounded by a smaller circle of family. Then they did it again, bigger, at Casa Feliz in Orlando, and that’s the day we got to be part of.
We love when couples do this. It means by the time we show up, they’ve already had a full ceremony behind them. There’s less pressure riding on a single afternoon, and it shows. Zoe and Chris were relaxed in a way we don’t always get to see this early in the day.
Getting Ready and the First Look
Rain was in the forecast, the kind of Florida forecast that makes everyone nervous for weeks leading up to a wedding. We got overcast skies instead, soft light all afternoon, no scrambling for cover. Chris and the groomsmen got dressed first, then Zoe, then the two of them had their first look tucked away from the rest of the wedding party before photos started.
The Ceremony
Casa Feliz‘s brick and stucco does a lot of the work on its own, but Zoe and Chris’s florals leaned into it instead of fighting it. Soft pinks, violets, and cream worked into an arch over the entry doors and carried through the bridesmaids’ bouquets. The bridesmaids wore deep green, which against all that old brick was probably our favorite color pairing we’ve shot at this venue.
The Reception
A few details from this one are going to stick with us for a while. The cake was decorated with dried florals pressed right into the icing, something we hadn’t seen before at a wedding we’ve photographed, and it looked incredible against the tapestry behind the dessert table. Alongside it, Zoe and Chris served Greek wedding cookies, a small, personal nod to that first ceremony a few weeks earlier. There was also a flaming donut display, which is exactly as fun to photograph as it sounds.
The night wrapped with open dancing, a last dance, and a lavender toss send-off instead of the usual sparkler exit; guests lined up with lavender in hand as Zoe and Chris made their way out.
This wedding actually came to us through Anna Christine Events, who planned the entire day and recommended us to Zoe and Chris. We love when that happens. A planner vouching for you based on your work is one of the best compliments we get in this business.
