The Capen House Weddings

The Capen House is full of local history and is embraced by the local Winter Park Community. The property is over a century old and has been restored and preserved to meet today’s standards. The Space as a whole is unlike anything that we’ve ever seen. The Polasek Museum is right next to it and houses a multitude of art.

Why We Love Weddings at The Capen House

Without a doubt, this venue has a level of charm that can only be rivaled by a few other places in Winter Park, let alone the surrounding Greater Orlando Area. The greenery, mixed with art, sculptures, and charm, makes the place gorgeous for portraits. The ceremony site is gorgeous for large weddings with ample space. The sun sets at just the right angle to allow for some dramatic wedding portraits or just some fun under the sun.

Insider Info on Capen House Weddings

This venue falls under the same noise ordinance that all of the City of Winter Park wedding venues have to abide by. Space inside can feel a little cramped with more people, and it can be hot at times, but overall, it’s beautiful and has just enough room. In the outside reception area, there’s a slight decline that might make things a little awkward, but for the most part, it’s barely noticeable.

Things to Keep in Mind

Even though the venue’s site and event space say that there’s space to fit 350 people comfortably, I’d be cautious. It might get a little tight at times on the dance floor with 350 wedding guests, unless you have everything outside. If you do have everything outside, make sure that you rent a tent in case it rains. The bridal getting-ready room feels like it’s just enough for 5 or 6 bridesmaids. Overall, you might want to consider getting a hotel room at the Alfond Inn down the road.
