When I was a kid, I remembered coming to the Orlando Science Center and loving how big it was. It was full of so many things to do! I never thought that this place would be a wedding venue. Now that I think about it, it’s a perfect place to have Orlando Science Center Weddings. At least for nerdy people like myself.
Why We Love Orlando Science Center Weddings
It’s without a doubt that I am a big nerd. I have to say that I appreciate the fact that Marta puts up with my nerdiness. When we went there to photograph a wedding for the first time, I felt like a kid again. There were so many cool little trinkets and things to see. We walked up and went to the floor with the terrace and Dino Room. 90% of the wedding portraits and activities happen on this floor. The groom gets ready in the Founder’s Room and the Bride has the Wedding Office to get ready. Once the sunset, the terrace becomes the location to go to for portraits. Getting the epic cityscape and skyline during the sunset is what we’re all about. Not to mention that we can go across the street and take portraits near the lake.
Insider Info on Weddings at Orlando Science Center
The staff at the Orlando Science Center are beyond a doubt some of the most helpful people we’ve worked with. When we started photographing the wedding couple, the manager on duty came up to me and offered his advice if needed. He also mentioned that we could go to any exhibit that we wanted to. The exhibits are always changing, so that was a generous offer on their part.
Things to Keep in Mind
The Terrace is epic, but it all depends on the weather. On another note, getting ready rooms sometimes are not ideal for some couples. The times that we have photographed weddings at the Orlando Science Center, we’ve photographed couples at Air BnB’s or their own homes. Get ready for plenty of flash photography. There is no natural light in the ceremony site or reception area.
