Fighting Cancer | Erin & Leah | Portraits | Rudy & Marta

I’m not going to lie when I say that it has been awhile since Marta or I have blogged.  I feel like it’s been ages.  Planning for this trip to Europe has been a trip all on it’s own.  Last time we went to see the family I fell in love with photography.  Now that we’re equipped with a camera and a few gadgets, let’s see what happens.  Anyways, enough about us.  I’d like to introduce Erin and Leah and how they are fighting cancer.

Erin and Leah are about as cute and as adorable as two little sisters can get.  Both are very mature for their age.  Erin has been fighting Wilms’ Tumor for about two years.  Dealing with such an illness brings the strongest wills and the most courage out of people.  To have such a young person fighting cancer and going through it is both sad and inspiring.  Someone so innocent and unaware of all the world has to offer going through something so tough.

We had the pleasure of working with the owners of Cakes with L.O.V.E. at a charity event for Nathaniel’s Hope.  A few weeks after the event Marilyn contacted us saying that Kids Cancer Crusade was looking for a photographer for Erin, and that she wanted to know if we could help.  How could we say no?  I’m not sure if Marta and I were ready to be introduced to such happy children.  I’ve never seen anyone so happy before in my life.  They were full of laughter and joy.  Erin seemed wise beyond her years.  It’s something that probably happens when you’re fighting cancer.
