Day one of Paris was exhausting. No where near as exhausting as day two, but it was exhausting none the less. We woke up at 5:00a.m. to catch a 5:45a.m. train that would take us to Liege, where we would switch trains and head to Paris. Once we got there, the hotel room wasn’t ready, so we left our bags with reception and walked around. On day one we got some awesome shots.
Liberte Tower of Bastille.
We used the Metro like crazy. It’s just as easy to use as the one in New York (or I think, I’ve never been to New York).
We headed to Père Lachaise Cemetery to kill time. I thought it was a nice way to get rid of a couple of hours.
Here lays Chopin. One of the most famous composers and pianists of all history.
James Morrison (Jim Morrison from The Doors) lays here as well. I’m pretty sure you’ve heard his music before. The grave is fenced off, because people used to scribble on it and leave messages. Now these messages are left on a tree nearby.
The famous Oscar Wilde also lays here. His grave is covered in messages written in lipstick.
Charlie Chaplin is here as well.
After the cemetery, we started walking around Paris trying to catch a glimpse of everything. We knew we couldn’t and wouldn’t, but it was fun walking around and sight seeing.
Les Invalides. This is where Napoleon is buried. Back in the day, this used to be a hospital for veterans.
The Flame of Liberty. A memorial for Princess Diana of Wales.
The Eiffel Tower

We had a good time that day.
All in all we had a blast. We were a little tired from the train ride to Paris, but it was well worth it. There’s still more to come. 🙂
