Fit The Dress for your Wedding, 5 Ways on How to | Rudy & Marta

First off, let me just say that everything that I’m about to say is based on what I’ve learned and tried out on my own.  This isn’t a list of things that I figured out over night.  Everything that I’m about to mention I’ve tried and am probably still doing some if not all of the things that I’m about to mention.  Also, these aren’t things that will “trick” your body into thinking it’s doing something that it’s not (i.e. making it think its full when it’s not).  This will help you fit the dress or the tux that you want to wear on your wedding day or someone else’s.

Fit The Dress Tip# 1: Kick Fast Food

It’s been proven that fast food has addictive elements, both physical and psychological.  I’m pretty sure that we all know that fast food is bad for you.  The fact of the matter is that it’s very easy to say, “I’ve got to eat and I’m in a rush.  A burger will do the trick for now.  Later I’ll eat something healthy.”  I personally don’t think that it’s very good to eat fast food at all.  I’m sure that there are other healthier options that you can pick up in a pinch.  Panera has been building more and more of their restaurants with a drive-thru. They have healthy options, though it’s very easy to fall into a pit full of bad carbs, sugar, and high bad cholesterol in there, so be careful.  There are also fruit bowls available everywhere.  You hit your sweet tooth and have a filling meal full of vitamins and minerals.

Fit The Dress Tip# 2: Eat Things Your Grandma Eats

I love this.  The first time I heard about this I was talking to Dr. Milo Vassallo from New York, NY.  To cut a long conversation short, he mentioned several books that are important to learning more about health, and one of those books is a book called Food Rules.  A simple and intellectual way to go about eating healthy.  It’s literally a set of rules to go by.  I haven’t personally read it extensively, but I’ve been wanting to pick it up.  One of these rules that he mentioned that I can’t help but repeat daily. “If your grandmother can’t pronounce the ingredients in it, then you probably shouldn’t eat it.”  It kind of makes me think that maybe I shouldn’t be looking at the Nutrition Facts as much as I should be looking at the Ingredient List.  Both should be taken into account, but I think the Ingredient List should be first and then the Nutrition Facts.

Fit The Dress Tip #3: I’m sexy and I know it…

Simply put, work out.   Get a membership at any gym.  Most counties have a recreational center.  Mine has a gym membership that’s $25 every three months.  That’s $8.33 a month.  You can’t beat that.  Granted, there are some meat heads that make working out a little awkward.  Still, I’m sure that you can find a Planet Fitness or the all girls gym Vixen.  There are plenty of health benefits, but most of all you’ll be able to tone your body, burn fat, feel great, and fit THE Dress.

Fit The Dress Tip #4: Drink Tea, not Soda.

Specifically, drink green tea.  Hot, cold, or room temperature.  It doesn’t matter.  Just drink it, but make sure it’s unsweetened.  According to WebMD, it has a plethora of health benefits.  Green tea can do everything from lowering cholesterol to preventing diabetes, but most of all it burns fat.  Personally, I drink Harney&Sons Pomegranate Oolong which has its own set list of benefits, but burning fat is one of them.  Plus, it tastes pretty damn good.  No matter what, most herbal teas have numerous benefits.  I think that the best one for weight loss is green tea though.  It’s a lot better for you than Coke, Diet Coke, Coke Zero, or any variation of Coke (this goes for any cola out there).  Look at the ingredient list in soda and ask yourself which one of these ingredients isn’t made artificially.  And no…carbonated water doesn’t count.  This ties into number 2 on this list.  Trust me, not drinking soda will definitely help you fit the dress.

Fit The Dress Tip #5: Make it a Habit

This, I think, is the most important piece of advice I could give anyone.  Make it a habit to workout.  Green tea should be the go to drink.  Make it a habit of eating whole foods and not processed foods.  Make it all a habit.  It’s about changing the way you go about things.  The moment that you do that, the easier it’ll be to do.  I’ve gone about a week without working out before and I felt like crap.  Without my release of endorphin from each workout, I was getting angry/sad really fast.  I also had less energy. Once I started back on my routine I felt great.  It’s very hard to not enjoy working out once you pass the soreness period.

Everything that I’ve listed here all ties in.  Eating the right foods helps you perform better while you’re at the gym.  The better you perform the more fat you burn and the better your metabolism goes.  Stay away from processed foods and eat more whole foods.  Also,  stick to lean meats (chicken breasts, seafood, etc.), but don’t overeat it.  Try to eat more raw vegetables (without ranch).

So go join a gym, go to your local Whole Foods, go start being healthy.  You’re just one step away from starting your journey into fitting into that dress and looking great for your big day.  You can do it!  Email me, I’ll support you.  I don’t care what it takes.  You’re going to look great on your wedding day. 🙂

Now go kick ass,

-Rudy

P.S.  I’m a juice head.  If you want to fit the dress or tux for your wedding, I highly recommend introducing juicing in your diet.  It’ll not only help give you more energy, but it’ll also provide awesome micro-nutrients that your body needs to function.  I’ve lost over 60 lbs. doing this.  Here are some shots from juicing that are on my Instagram feed.
