Orlando Wedding Venue

The ACRE ORLANDO

ORLANDO, FL

A Secret Garden in the Heart of College Park

Rustic. Whimsical. Honestly, it’s kind of hard to describe until you are standing in it.

The Acre Orlando is tucked into College Park, and the moment you walk through the gate, it feels like the city just… disappears. There are gardens around every corner, little pockets of greenery and light that you did not see coming, and a layout that makes guests feel like they are exploring something rather than just attending a wedding.

We have shot here a bunch of times, and every single gallery looks different. That is rare. Most venues have one or two go-to spots, and you kind of rotate through them. The Acre is different. Every direction you point a camera, something interesting is happening.

THE INFO

The Acre Orlando is one of those venues that is genuinely hard to put in a box. It is a garden, a rustic barn, a wanderable outdoor space, and a neighborhood gathering spot all at once – and somehow it works beautifully as a wedding venue. If you want something in Orlando that has real character without trying too hard, this is it.

WHY WE LOVE THE ACRE ORLANDO

The short version: it has character. Real, genuine character that you cannot manufacture with decor.

Most venues give you a blank canvas and say, “Go for it.” The Acre gives you something to work with from the moment your guests arrive. The layered greenery, the rustic barn structure, the way the paths wind through the property – all of it creates a setting that photographs beautifully without needing a ton of stuff added to it.

From a documentary photography standpoint, this place is a gift. Because guests naturally spread out and wander during cocktail hour, we get to capture them in real moments rather than everyone clustered in one spot waiting for the bar line to move. People are genuinely enjoying themselves and exploring the grounds, and it shows in the photos.

We also love that the two getting-ready spaces are completely hidden from each other. The logistics of keeping both partners apart on the wedding morning are usually a whole production. At The Acre, the venue handles that for you.

What couples rave about:

The thing we hear most from couples after their wedding at The Acre Orlando is that their guests kept talking about the venue. Not the flowers, not the cake – the place itself. That says a lot.

Couples who book here usually care more about atmosphere than formality. They want something that feels personal and a little unexpected. The Acre Orlando delivers that without trying too hard, which is exactly the point.

The Acre Orlando Photos

A selection of beautiful images, taken by Rudy & Marta Photography during wedding ceremonies at the Acre.

From a Photographer’s Perspective

Every corner of this property can be used as a unique background. That is not just a thing we say – it is genuinely true here in a way it is not at most venues. Walk twenty feet in any direction, and the image looks completely different.

The garden paths give you layered greenery for depth. The barn exterior gives you a strong architectural backdrop. The ceremony space, depending on the time of day, can give you this beautiful, soft, filtered light coming through the trees. It is a lot to work with, and we mean that in the best way.

THE COCKTAIL HOUR SITUATION

We love photographing the cocktail hour at The Acre more than almost anywhere else. Because the property is designed to be wandered, guests do not just stand in one spot. They explore. And when people are actually experiencing something, the candid photos are on a completely different level. We always try to split up during this part of the day so we can cover the whole property at once. This is one of the few venues where we genuinely look forward to cocktail hour as photographers, because we know we are going to find real moments happening all over the property.

A NOTE ON THE DANCE FLOOR

The dance floor is in an uncovered outdoor area, which is beautiful and open-air, but does mean you need a tent on standby if there is any rain in the forecast. Florida is Florida. A tent backup keeps the energy from stalling if the sky has opinions about your reception.

Photo Opportunities at The Acre Orlando

As Orlando wedding photographers who have worked at this venue multiple times, we can honestly say: so many possibilities!

The Gardens

The main event. The layered garden paths give you a completely different feel from a traditional ceremony or portrait backdrop. Lush, organic, and constantly changing as the light moves throughout the day. We especially love these for golden hour couple portraits.

Getting Ready

Both partners have their own hidden space, which is a logistical dream. One heads-up: the groom’s room tends to be darker because the windows are usually covered or the blinds are drawn. We always ask whoever is coordinating the morning to open at least one window before we start shooting. It makes a real difference.

The Barn

The rustic modern structure, with its metal roof and dark wood siding, gives you a strong architectural contrast to all the greenery. It photographs beautifully, whether we are shooting wide or up close, and it works with pretty much any color palette.

The Ceremony

Intimate, surrounded by greenery, and versatile depending on the size of your guest list. The venue can work with different setups depending on how many people you have, which is helpful for couples who want a smaller, more intimate ceremony without the space feeling too large around them.

A few insider tips…

  • Time your portraits so they do not overlap with the cocktail hour. When guests are wandering the gardens, you do not want to be navigating around them during your couple portraits. Your coordinator can help sequence this well.
  • Book your tent backup early. Last-minute tent rentals in Orlando can be tough to find on short notice, especially during wedding season.
  • Open the blinds in the groom’s getting-ready room. Tell your coordinator ahead of time. It is a small thing that makes a big difference in those morning photos.

PLANNING RESOURCES

The Acre’s College Park location is one of its less-talked-about advantages. You are close to downtown Orlando, close to Winter Park, and right on Edgewater Drive, which is one of the best neighborhood strips in the city for food. Your guests will have no trouble finding something to do before or after the wedding.

What’s nearby for your guests?

Your friends and family won’t be short of things to do during their stay:

  • Accommodation: Downtown Orlando hotels are about 10 minutes away and give guests easy access to everything. Winter Park is another great option, about 15 minutes out, with a walkable downtown that guests tend to love.
  • Restaurants & Cafés: plenty to enjoy for fans of Italian cuisine, with great spots for a rehearsal dinner, like Adriatico Trattoria Italiana, but you’ll find more casual spots with American menus as well.
  • Activities:
Easy, local: Walk Edgewater Drive through College Park – shops, coffee, very low-key.
Cute half-day nearby: Winter Park’s Park Avenue for boutique shopping and the boat tour on the chain of lakes
Full day funday: Any of Orlando’s theme parks, all within 30 minutes.
  • Travel Info: The Acre is in College Park, Orlando.
Flying in: Closest major airport: Orlando International (MCO), roughly 25 minutes. Orlando Sanford (SFB) is around 40 minutes.

Recommended Vendors

Planning a wedding means choosing vendors you can trust – ideally, ones who know the venue well and work seamlessly behind the scenes. Here are a few local legends we’ve worked with and wholeheartedly recommend:

  • Rentals: A Chair Affair, provides high-quality event furniture and decor pieces to help couples elevate their wedding day.
  • DJ: Our DJ Rocks, an all-female DJ company, known for providing high-energy, professional music and entertainment services.
  • Cakes: Morgan Hunter Desserts, a custom boutique bakery, creates spectacular cakes completely from scratch.

QUESTIONS ABOUT
THE ACRE ORLANDO Weddings

Up to 250, technically. But here is our honest take: at 250, things get cozy. The gardens are wonderful for wandering, but the space does feel full at max capacity. If your guest list is on the larger side, we would encourage you to walk through the layout with the venue team before committing. Somewhere in the 150 to 200 range tends to feel like the sweet spot where the property can breathe.

This is the main thing to plan for at The Acre. The dance floor is outdoors and uncovered, so if rain is in the forecast, you want a tent on standby. The venue does not have a large indoor rain plan, the way some mansion venues do. A tent backup is not a last resort here – it is just smart Florida planning.

The Acre is known for being dog-friendly in its day-to-day operation, but for a full wedding buyout, we would check with the coordinator directly. Although we photographed a wedding where the dogs were present, policies can vary depending on how the event is set up.

Not required, but strongly encouraged. The outdoor nature of the venue means there are a lot of moving pieces: timing, tent backup, vendor arrivals, and the cocktail hour flow. A day-of coordinator at minimum makes a real difference. This venue rewards good planning.

It can be, because the windows are usually covered or the blinds are drawn. We always flag this to coordinators ahead of time: open one window and the whole room changes. If you are working with a coordinator, pass this along. It is an easy fix that makes a real difference in the morning photos.

Yes, there is parking on the property and in the surrounding College Park neighborhood. Given that the area is walkable and the evening tends to involve a bar, a lot of guests opt for rideshares, which works perfectly here.
