Winter Park | Engagement | Kaelani and Rusty | Rudy & Marta

Today was probably one of the luckiest days Marta and I have had in our photography endeavors.  We’ve been planning on this engagement session for about three weeks.  We talked about engagement session locations, but Winter Park the final decision.  I looked at the Farmer’s Almanac to make sure that our weather was going to be top dollar (we want everything to go perfectly for Kaelani and Rusty).  Florida weather is a very fickle thing.  Yesterday with Gabrielle we were able to capture most, if not all, of her pictures in perfect sunlight.  Today we were hoping to get those amazing engagement pictures done in the same weather in Winter Park.

“…amazing engagement pictures…in Winter Park”

Today, unfortunately, was not so beautiful.  We got up around 9:30a.m., and I immediately looked out the window only to find clouds in the sky and a patch of blue.  That’s the complete opposite of what I wanted. 🙁  We had a hearty breakfast and went to the location that we agreed on.  As we drove I kept on looking in the sky praying for a ray of sunlight.  As we pulled off of the highway, the patch of blue grew.  We had about an hour and a half of sunlight, which was much more than what we bargained for.  Any natural light photographer will tell you that having a cloudy sky is not the best condition in the world, especially for something as important as an engagement session.

Once we got there we broke the ice.  I told them that we’d be snapping candid pictures all around Park Ave. in Winter Park.  We would go from location to location looking for new angles and we were able to get the best of lighting on pretty much everything.

“…fairy tale love…these two are the real deal…”

Enough about what happened to us, the important people are Kaelani (a.k.a. KK) and Rusty.  These two are the true testament to love.  Most people have ideas of fairy tale love and all that jazz, but these two are the real deal.  Rusty is in the Navy.  He’s set to graduate next year.  After which he will begin his duty in protecting the coasts of America.  KK has many paths to choose from at the moment.  She’s set to graduate as well, but has been offered a promotion at her current job.  Many paths lay in front of her, but she’ll be able to travel them with Rusty.  Today we were able to capture this love.  Here’s a little sample of what we were able to snap.

Many wishes to you KK+Rusty.  Congratulations.

P.S.  I don’t think anyone can thank the people in uniform enough for what they do to help protect our freedom.  Here’s a try from Marta and I.  Thank you.
