Film Photography and Where I’m at | Rudy & Marta

Film photography is something that I’ve grown to love.  It’s sad that I don’t really have a “fund” per say to buy products.  I’d love to get more film.  I’d love to have more film cameras.  The good, the bad, and definitely the ugly.  Usually the uglier a camera is the better it is, that is except for Leica cameras.  They’re super, ridiculously awesome and I personally think they look sexy.  If I were to get a film camera, then it’d better be a Leica.  I’d be extremely happy with an MP or M7, but that’s just me.

I’ve started looking into Thrift stores.  What a treasure chest! I think I’m going to start collecting film cameras.  The more film cameras, the better the film photography, right?  Well, at least I can see myself experiencing different points of view when it comes to photography.  I’m sure there are plenty of photographers out there that do the same, so I’m not starting something new.  Each little box.  Each little lens.  All of it having some sort of history.  It seems fit that a photographer should collect different instruments of artistry. I can’t wait to start my own little collection.

The next thing that I’ll be getting will probably be a custom made Holga.  It’s relatively inexpensive, but able to produce the sort of photos that can be amazing.  Of course it has to be in the right hands in order for it to be amazing.  I think it’s awesome. It’s a toy camera that leads towards spontaneity.  I’ll be ordering it soon.  I’ll let you know how it goes.

P.S.  I love Kodak film.  Something about it is just awesome when it comes to skin tones.  I can appreciate Fujifilm and their film lines.  Here are some samples of Fujifilm Fujicolor100.
