Marta and I met Amanda at a bridal show in spring. We were at Aloft in Downtown Orlando at our booth and we almost immediately clicked. After the show, Marta and I both knew that we enjoyed talking to Amanda and what she had in mind for her wedding day. She mentioned the relaxed style of her wedding and we knew we were a match. We both have a very down to earth and laid back approach to wedding photography, so we knew that this would be a great opportunity to be a part of an awesome wedding. In short, we had similar wedding ideas. We never talked about her and Elie’s idea of an early sunrise engagement session.
Talk of the Early Sunrise Engagement Session Begins
I met up with Amanda and her Mom at the Grand Bohemian in Downtown Orlando. We were talking over coffee and got more details about the wedding day. They both decided that Marta and I should be the wedding photographers for them. We were so humbled! I knew immediately that we were going to have a good time with this family. A couple of weeks passed by, and we started talking about their engagement session ideas. We went over a couple of engagement session locations and ended up going with Park Avenue in Winter Park.
Complications Before the Early Sunrise Engagement Session
It was September and we had to reschedule our session so many times. Elie works early mornings, so it was natural for him to be up at 4:00 AM. They suggested an early sunrise engagement session, which was something that I had never done at the time. We were pretty stoked though. The light would be different. So we met up at 6:00 AM on a completely empty Park Avenue. It was kind of eerie. Everything was closed and there was no one there, but it worked beautifully. We started near Casa Feliz. As we walked around, we were talking about their wedding day and learning more about each other. We finished the sunrise engagement session at the parking garage near the end of Park Avenue.
