It’s what we call in the wedding industry “engagement season” or “booking season.” Everyone got engaged over the holiday season. There are all sorts of couples looking for wedding venues, planners, and photographers. Newly engaged couples are forming the perfect wedding vendor team for their day. Earlier this month, I was at an association meeting at the Central Florida Bridal Association. Soon, this association will be called Central Florida Wedding Association.

There were some awesome people that came in and talked about what’s going on in the wedding industry. They talked about how many weddings were in Central Florida last year and in 2015. Marta and I were amazed when Nick from Sophia’s Art Photo pulled out County by County numbers from Miami all the way up to St. Augustine. In 2015 that area saw around 53,000 weddings. 2016 numbers are still coming in, but it’s close to the same.
It’s craziness, really. There were some couples that we had to apologize, say no to, and refer to a fellow photographer. It sucks though. I would never want to be in that situation. Imagine, you’re looking for the perfect wedding photographer. I would want to work with someone that I like if I got married again today. We would want to be able to see ourselves in their images. Kind of like when you see yourself in a new kitchen, new car, or even new shoes. It’s like everything fits just right and there’s no looking back.

The worst thing that could happen is that. Then, we’re booked when you reach out to us. Start building your wedding vendor team now. The last thing that we want is for couples that love us to be brought down by the fact that we’re already booked.
It’s sad to say, your wedding date is not unique. There’s probably anywhere from 100 to 200 brides that have the same date as you. Don’t waste time. Book your ideal wedding vendor team. Ask if there are payment plans. The faster that you can build your team the better.
