Red & Black Rockabilly Shoot | Styled Shoot

Marta has started to make it a point to have a few styled shoots a year. In 2016, we wanted to do more with other wedding vendors. Our son was still a little newborn and we didn’t sleep. Needless to say, we saved all of our creative energy for working with couples. We jumped on the opportunity to work with Carlisha from A Rose Design on her Red & Black Rockabilly Shoot.

Orange Blossom Bride was holding a competition of sorts at their one-year anniversary party at Eagle Creek. The idea was to have a slew of planners come up with their own tablescapes and themes for styled shoots. Carlisha came up with the idea of the Red & Black Rockabilly Shoot and everything immediately started to blend in beautifully. The wedding vendor team had a cohesive idea in mind. The models were celebrating 4 years together and it seemed fitting to have them in a styled shoot.

Quick sidenote: Simply put, Marta and I love working with real couples in styled shoots. There’s something magical that happens when there’s an actual couple that you can’t get from models that don’t know each other. You can’t pose love.

Fortunately, It was one of the few chilly and windy days at the beginning of the year in January. We ended up going to the wedding venue at the right time in order to get the best images. Beautifully, the string lights hung in the air and created a mood like no other. I’ve got to give huge thanks to the team that made it all possible. We didn’t win the competition or the bragging rights that came with it, but it’s worth noting the amount of work and effort that went into everything that we did as a team. Everyone brought their best work at the Orange Blossom Bride Event.
